A Trio Per Team

Yesterday's post was a way bigger personal lesson, but I realized that I had solid example of something I said in The Essential Eight in The Graphic Facilitator's Guide.

On page 198, I shared how I often draw and write in a trio of colors. Here are 4 sets of 3 colors I used on yesterday's rollercoaster ride.

Above and below, you see four chunks of work, one chart each. In each chart I used three colors as my predominant colors.

Why Use Trios?

  • It makes each team's charts instantly findable.
  • By using fewer colors, and knowing exactly what every color's job was, I free up mental space for other visual choices.
