Feel Your Feels.
There are plenty of ways we don't feel our feelings:
- There's no time to acknowledge what we're feeling
- It may not be safe time or place to do so
- We've been taught only certain emotions are appropriate
- The scale of the feelings don't feel "right-sized" to the circumstance — either big and overblown or too small
- We find ourselves adapting how we express or contain our feelings to those around us for a bajillion different reasons.
All of these are understandable responses. But not feeling your feelings has a pesky way of showing up in other ways, doesn't it?
